ALNWICK CASTLE
Yves de Vescy , Baron of Alnwick, erected the first parts of the castle in 1096. It was built to defend England's northern border against the Scottish invations and it has been owned by the Percy family, the Earls and later Dukes of Northumberland since 1309.

Now owned by the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, and open to the public to view the castle and also the famous Alnwick Gardens, home to the worlds largest tree house.
The Castle has become world famous in recent years for being the place where Harry Potter, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and Elizebeth were filmed, although it has been the film location for many years for a huge list of well known films.
